I do like Matt Haig’s writing. I’ve enjoyed his other books To Be a Cat and Humans.
But this one left me feeling disappointed. I think the main problem here is it just seems so predictable. I didn’t feel there was enough risk, staked seemed low and I could already tell where the ending of this was going to go. No great surprises.
I liked it conceptually and I do like the characters, and Matt has always been very good at that. The humour wasn’t as sharp or it’s funny as his previous books.
Anyway it was good to know a bit more about Ibiza, a place I’ve never been to.
