I liked this show, it was nice and easy to binge and while you also can become invested. It was one of my favorite shows and I still love it to this day, the charecters are likable (for the most part) and the story makes sence. HOWEVER, this changed when it reached season 6. The last part of the show that I liked was the Keith vs Shiro fight or "The Black Palidin". The animation was phenomenal and charecter development and explanations were provided. But once we reached season 7 it just seemed like a huge filler episode, and the ending of the show could have been made SO much better. Eveyone got a somewhat subtle ending EXEPT LANCE. Lance the entire season seemed to only have 1 purpose, flirt with Allura and fight Keith. And that one sided relationship somehow ended in him moaning for the rest of his life??? COMON! Also Shiros ending, 1st WHO IS THIS GUY? I know he was on screen but we saw NO evidence of any romance!!! Also his entire charecter arc did not center around "love" it centered around his emotional struggle with what had happened in space prison and his revenge on the galra for what they have done! I feel like a better end for him would be for him to become the command of the garrison with all of his experience. On that note, once the castle was removed everything just fell flat, it was either inside a cramped lion or in the garrisons ship. Also CAN WE PLEASE GET AN EXPLANATION ON HOW THE SHIP CAN BECOME A VOLTRON??? But one thing that always bugged me was the tropes on each character, even Shiro First, Shiro was a nicely developed charecter but he can literally be pronounced Hero sooo. Lance, easy, he was WAY to much of a filler flirt. Keith (although I like him) is just being present es d as a bad boy to much. Pidge is amazing but all of her is just "I'm Deep because I love TECHNOLOGY and GREENERY". And Hunk, his entire charecter is a fat joke, as in he talks about food to much...like he was suppose to be smart like Pidge but we saw none of that because we just saw a guy who liked food alot. I know I have been negative but Voltron as a whole is a good show, it's not perfect in any sence but it's something you can really come to love and appreciate.
