There is so much potential to this concept but it turns out to be a generic forgettable semi-blockbuster. The Old Guard has set a higher expectation for action movies. The idea of ‘what kind of power’ would you get was not explored extensively like the OG. This is an action movie featured some random ‘superpower’, not a ‘superpower’ movie consisted of drama/action. The motivation of the characters were not compelling and it was a dull journey to follow them tracking down the big boss. No strong emotion attachment or relationship development. I didn’t feel on edge for one second. I would rather rewatch Looper or the Old Guard instead of giving 2 hrs to this movie.
