I could have given it 4 stars, but the acting was iffy in parts and I found there to be a lack of emotion from Jenifer Hudson, apart from the scene where she visits Steven in prison. Her acting let it down for me. The general story of injustice is portrayed well, even though he was actually guilty and lied. That was a shock for me as I thought the film was about social injustice, although still makes this point well from a system that is corrupt generally. You do feel for the main lead as you can understand how he got to the point he did, through niavity and peer pressure.
Worth a watch, but didn't get excited. it built up to an anti-climax.
