I got through the first series and even though i expected more of a gritty, realistic crime drama it was entertaining enough especially in the earlier episodes. I could just about get through the over the top ludicrous fight scene, politically correct casting (especially Joe Cole) , mis- casting and at types downright poor acting.
As it continues, however, it seems to morph into some strange conspiracy crime drama with global elites pulling the strings. Elliot, a soldier and undercover becomes elevated to a globe trotting assassin working for the investors. Silly, cliched twists like Sean being alive after he clearly dies run throughout. But anything to milk a bit more drama
The script, pacing and characters are all over the place. After 1 episode of series 2 i could not watch anymore ; it just becomes laughable. For the money they must have spent on this they could have done a way, way better job and a third series is planned. I can only imagine what it will be like if it continues the trajectory of the first two series.
I guess conspiracy theorists will lap this crap up though.
