Oh my gosh, Dororo WAY surpassed my expectations!!! To be fair, I didn't know much about this anime, going into it, but the story is so much more well done than most other anime I've watched. I was always excited to watch more! There are lots of great action scenes; nothing seems too drawn out; there's a definitive ending; and it's a happy one! And the CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT that seems to be lacking in many anime was not lacking here, in Hyakkimaru, his and Dororo's relationship, and even in Taromaru, too. I was invested in all their stories and struggles. Maybe this series could have benefitted from a few more episodes to flesh things out, but not an entire season's worth. I can't stop thinking about it and am tempted to watch it all again. I can finally say with certainty that I now have a favorite anime!
