Too many b list celebrities all smashed into a subpar screenplay. The Manns were irrelevant in this film. Tommy and Cole as well. Kel as well. There were so many plot holes and inconsistencies in the script that this would barely qualify as a rough draft. Overused concepts and comedic tricks. Like his friend moaning from what we find out to be a massage- it’s been done many times, drop it. Lose the “africa guy” narrative. Drop the intercuts of the novel characters . Lots of over acting. Too many excess side characters. Disconnected subplots that seem to have only been in place for either a forced laugh, or showcasing Tamela singing (most people know that she can already) And who is the main character? Vernon acts giddy about his costar yet never calls her???? We the audience do not know the motivation behind this. Very garbage movie. Big flop. The writer and director were given an opportunity that many dream of, and wasted it . Dissatisfied and disappointed. I can see why this is went straight to Tubi. Doesn’t even deserve a bootleg, I would ask the bootleg man for a refund. D list so called “black” films like this give me hope that I can do anything I put my mind to.
