Been playing LoL a while. No idea when I started. Dumped a lot of money into the freemium cosmetics, cause I am big dumb. I went on a long hiatus, and came back to find my account had been highjacked, renamed, and sold to some guy. I began the journey to recover my account by contacting Riots tech support. After about a week, my account was handed back to me exactly as the phishermen had left it. I sent a complaint and a list of things that were messed up to support. They responded by tweaking ONE. INDIVIDUAL. THING. at a time. That means one minor change a day, possibly with more time in between. A little over a month later, they had finally managed the impossible. They finally managed to switch my usernames back to being (close to) what they were. My friends list still deleted. My loot page still liquidated and spent on whatever. I had become sick of it. I angrily requested a refund for the entire history of purchases made by me. Finally Riot sent me a more polite tech support to explain things in a little greater detail. He would be the one to finally get the last instance of my usernames changed like the golden god he was. I was willing to give Riot a second chance. I was willing to embrace the sunk cost fallacy... but then I noticed something. When the phishers stole my account, they used a PayPal account to switch my server. $35 for the riot points required to do so. One tech support had reversed this earlier, and refunded the virtual currency of Riot points to my RP total. Then suddenly a week later, they refunded the PayPal purchase to my hacker, but not me. They took the points, and refunded my hacker. I didn't use the points there was nothing i wanted, but they pulled the imaginary virtual money with arbitrary value anyway. All they could tell me was that it was because if the hacker had forced a refund on paypal's end, it might result in my account being suspended. My. Account. Being suspended. So they refunded him, after they denied me. Deleted. Uninstalled. Avoiding Riot forever, and recommend everyone do the same. Dealing with their tech supports was awful. Their anti-consumer policies are glaring. I would even be generous, and not place the blame of """toxic""" players, and unsatisfying matchmaking on Riot. There is zero attempt at customer care, or appreciation. Because of that, I wish them the worst.
