This show definitely had flaws in its writing besides one misogynistic joke towards Taylor Swift, but it doesn't deserve to be cancelled over it. While I think that there were a lot of examples where the writing was clunky, particularly in the oppression olympics scene, I as a fan of Taylor Swift don't want to support the mass attack against this show from the swifties. I think that the differences between experiences of poc is an important topic and acknowledging the relations between black and asian communities is barely seen in television, but the show did a poor job in my opinion and just immediately divulged into two biracial people berating each other for being "white" while relying on racist stereotyping. I am rating this 5 stars to offset the unjust low ratings from others based upon one line. I do hope that if this show continues they hire a diverse group of writers especially as their main character is a half-black girl.
