Southeast Asian culture is far too rich and diverse for one movie. I felt they squeezed in tiny details per country and truly wished there was more. But it's a tiny step towards Southeast Asian representation, so I guess that's something.

It's basically Moana with Mulan's sassy Mushu. The plot is about the daughter of a chief racing against time to return a shiny stone back to its original state, so the darkness can stop consuming everything in its path. Yeaaaah, Moana...
That being said, the movie was animated beautifully, and the message was great. Just don't expect much if you're a Southeast Asian looking for more than mere glances of your culture in Hollywood...
