This film captures depression in a way that feels honest and grounded. Not everything is darkness. You can still find moments of joy, humor, and connection even while feeling deeply unwell. The characters carry a quiet emptiness in their own unique ways, which makes you feel for their pasts while holding onto hope for what could come next. It tells a story of redemption through both the best and worst parts of the human experience. Terrible actions are done for beautiful reasons, and beautiful moments are born out of terrible situations. The two main characters feel symbiotic, playing off one another in a way that keeps you emotionally engaged. You find yourself rooting for them, not necessarily because of what they are doing, but because of how genuine they feel. Whether the ending is tragic or uplifting, it is equally satisfying because it stays true to the emotional journey. The film leaves you with an important reminder. No matter how bad things get, the way forward is to keep going. Choosing to quit early ends the story forever and may solve a temporary pain with a permanent consequence. Life has a strange way of throwing punches, but sometimes those punches are fruit-flavored and unexpectedly sweet. You have to stick around to find out. Having lost a friend to something similar, this film hit me in a way I cannot fully explain. Even with its heavy themes, I felt an odd comfort and happiness throughout. While the cinematography and pacing could use a bit of work, and some of the fight scenes lacked the sound design to really land, it remains a strong film overall. Especially for a lower-budget project, this is a thoughtful and moving portrayal of mental health struggles that is absolutely worth watching.

After feeling underwhelmed by the first installment of the Dune movie franchise, my expectations for Part 2 were admittedly low. However, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Part 2 not only exceeded my expectations but also elevated my opinion of the first movie. It's rare for a sequel to have such an impact, but this one managed to do just that. Watching the film in IMAX with DBOX chairs was an immersive experience like no other. The cinematic beauty combined with the expertly crafted 4D elements of the DBOX chairs made me feel truly immersed in the world of Dune. It's a stark contrast to my initial viewing of the first movie, where I felt something was lacking. Part 2 evoked a similar feeling to watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy as a child. Just as The Two Towers amplified the experience of Fellowship of the Ring, this sequel enhanced my appreciation for its predecessor. In the first movie, it was challenging to discern which characters were central and which were peripheral. However, with the benefit of hindsight and the progression of the plot, everything falls into place in Part 2. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. It lives up to the hype and more. Even if you were disappointed by the first movie, I urge you to give this one a chance. It will completely change your perspective on the series. While it may have moments of slow pacing, these are justified by significant advances in the plot and character development. Each character's allegiances and morality remain ambiguous until the very end, keeping you on the edge of your seat. In summary, Dune Part 2 is a fantastic film that is well worth your time. It's a thrilling ride from start to finish, leaving you eagerly anticipating the next installment.

This movie took me by surprise. Anticipating a narrative revolving around magic, I instead found myself immersed in a story tackling racism head-on. While acknowledging the existence of racism from the perspective it's portrayed, I disagree with the "eye for an eye" approach depicted. The film seemed to generalize individuals with white skin, leaving me uneasy and feeling as though societal progress was regressing. A humorous take on such a serious issue could have been refreshing, but unfortunately, this film missed the mark. By using segregation as a central plot device and demonizing skin color, it failed to contribute meaningfully to the discourse on racism. Instead, it perpetuated divisive narratives, evident in the extreme reactions it evoked from audiences. Rather than fostering understanding and unity, the movie seemed to deepen the divide between black and white communities. Extremist voices on both sides praised or criticized it vehemently, highlighting the polarizing effect of its message. Structurally, the film lacks innovation, relying heavily on a flawed premise that undermines its plot. It feels like a missed opportunity for a meaningful exploration of racism, leaving viewers with a sense of watching a parody without the humor. While some may defend it, I find it difficult to justify the praise it has received. Overall, I would advise skipping this movie, as it falls far short of being a compelling or insightful piece of cinema.

Scott Pilgrim plays out like a nerd fantasy however the performances and story structure feels diluted and boring. It's a fun little show to pass the time to but leaves much to be desired in terms of substance. The plot basically revolves around episodic fights between Scott and Romonas Evil Exes (in reverse) with a lot of the charm and organic chemistry that we saw in the live action movie adaptation left out. Overall if you're a big fan you'll enjoy it and if you're on the fence you'll be left wondering if scott pilgrim is even worth the hype in the first place. Just watch the movie and get the story in a more entertaining and well put together way.

The Punisher is as advertised, if you're looking for a show that plays up the macho sadistic psycho with a shotgun part of Frank Castle you'll enjoy this quite a bit. If you're looking for story structure and a show that values your time and prioritizes scene efficiency. This will be a waste of your time. At the time of writing this review I finished season 1 and I can say that this show loves to go deep into backstory and backstories of characters that don't particularly matter to the plot. They show you the same things as many times as they need to drill the damage of Frank into their watchers heads. It could be done in half the time and not lose any plot points or scenes. Overall it's not a bad show but it's definitely not something I could recommend anybody who doesn't have a built up anger and just wants to watch a aggressive and very "hoo-rah" vibe show.

I am a fan of Mario, that being said this movie isn't perfect. I think Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong and writing him in as a bratty son was a bit of a stretch but mostly the characters feel organic and true to their original characters. The movie starts by fixating on the everyday life and plumbing Italian idea of Mario but around 15 minutes into the story it swaps and shows you mushroom Kingdom like you haven't seen it before It was very cool to see all the references and side characters you've grown up with as a Nintendo fan and the overarching story and theme felt natural. This movie isn't incredible but it is fun, exciting and funny which I think is worth checking out if you're a fan of Mario or Nintendo.

I am not a D&D player, I'm familiar with it's world building and play video games inspired by its logic. With that in mind this movie was incredibly fun. It wastes no time getting into the meat of the story, there isn't dead air and every scene has a purpose. The witty humor of it all has you laughing while simultaneously being able to tug on your heart strings and stay excited to find out what happens next. It is a fantastic fantasy story that takes you for a ride and it's definitely worth checking out

Convoluted and borrows much from the past 10 years from similar experiences. The movie is not bad or good, it will keep your attention for the most part, locations are beautiful and the action sequences are fantastic. The story starts off by throwing you headfirst into a mess and then slowly pieces the puzzle by the shows climax. All in all, I would skip this movie if you don't have much time as this is a 1:1 adaptation of the source material including its slower pacing. If however you have plenty of time due to the pandemic and want to get into a sci-fi adventure, pick apart its world and characters, learn its languages and history; then this would be a fantastic show to watch as there is a lot to unpack.
