The movie excels in all departments of film making. The first and the foremost is subject, which is one of the most difficult ones for India. We have brushed it aside under the carpet or talked in hush-hush tones in mainstream movies, but this movie deals with it head-on. Though there was a scope to go more deeper and peel more layers but then it will become a lengthy documentary rather than an entertaining taut thriller mainstream film. The story and screenplay is impressive which is both realistic and engaging. Dialogues, situations and sub-plots have deeper meaning and inter-connections. Many things are metaphorically told, for example a snippet of ramayan told by driver, even a catch-line from a commercial ad is used beautifully. The fault-lines of human nature are explored from different angles and so the strengths. Background score is good, and cinematography is a visual treat, though the songs are not so memorable but they are not distracting and goes with the story. Acting performances are good. The film is definitely a brilliant attempt even with govt 2.0 in India, with all the attacks on investigative journalism, curbs on freedom of speech and mob-lynchings. It may not be as great as mother india or pather paanchali, but it does a good work to bring relevant topics in main stream movies , courageously and tactfully.
