Ive watched every single movie in this series, and this one is by far the worst one. They try to do too much to the point that it becomes so convoluted that I frankly dont know what’s happening and no longer care. Ive seen this one multiple times and I barely remembered what happened in it.
The basic plot gist is that the odd religious cult alien guy (dont know his name) is… well, making a cult from the remaining humans to worship their god, who is apparently King Ghidorah. Eventually they end up summoning Ghidorah and the alien guy offers up Earth as some sort of sacrifice to him. Also hes controlling Ghidorah from an amulet in his eye. Just- just don’t question it. Then what proceeds to take place is the worst monster fight in the history of mosyer fighting. Ghidorah and Godzilla “fight”, where Godzilla can’t physically attack Ghidorah for… some reason and so he just kind of stands there as Ghidorah bites him and all the humans are spouting exposition. Then Haruro confronts alien guy, they fight or something, alien guy dies, and suddenly Godzilla can attack Ghidorah cause hes physical now and Godzilla easily defeats him. From there, theirs a time skip where the space humans and bug humans are living together and Haruro apparently got one of them pregnant (this is like the one scene I vividly remember) but then his friend reveals that one of the Valkyries (the flying machine they used to fight Godzilla in the last movie) survived and then he has a weird vision, and then just straight up leaves his pregnant wife (??) and takes his comatose girlfriend, goes into the Valkyrie, and flies straight at Godzilla, who kills him. Cut to a shot of some flowers and The End.
Now I did skip out on a lot, but that is mainly because I just don’t remember what happened in the movie. It just gets confusing and they use far too much symbolism to the point where you dont know whats symbolic and whats not, or just what the symbolism ever is. The visuals also arent that good, the animation suffering the same stiffness that the last two had as well. There are some good shots, especially with King Ghidorah, but its not enough to keep you visually interested.
The movie, in essence, is confusing to the point of boredom.
