I enjoyed this movie! I’m not a parent and I do not have an adolescent to worry about what they see or learn from movies, however, some of the negative reviews seem to come from simply minded individuals. This movie has a great ending and is relatable for most teens.
I recently read a review from a Christian parent stating that the movie is introducing new vocabulary and scenarios for children to question and look up on the internet. I was raised by a strict Christian parent, went to church, was in bible study, and in a private Christian school.
Do you think that my peers never talked about a boy being “hot” or sneaking boy band music to one another knowing we shouldn’t listen to it, or saying things that were “sinful”? Think again.
This is simply a fun “Y2K teenybopper” movie that means zero harm to your child’s psyche.
If you have read the reviews and you are hesitant to let your child watch this movie, watch it yourself first and then Make the decision if they can watch it or not…but to be completely honest, I’m sure they’ll end up watching it whether you know it or not.
Trust me, I wasn’t allowed to watch Harry Potter…but did I end up watching it at my cousins house? Absolutely. Your call.
