I am actually aghast at some of the rave reviews coming in. I love previous horrors from wan. The conjuring in particular is one of my all time favourite, not just horror but movies. It was comical in places, unintentionally. The acting, apart from the lead is poor, and the big twist everybody could not believe was guessed by all 8 people in the cinema that night before the half way point. It doesn't know if it's a haunted house, ghost, slasher, gore, jump scare movie which doesn't help the situation. Granted there are a few decent moments showing off wans usual flair but overall I had to apologise to my parter et al for taking them to see this shoddy movie
