Wonderfully told tale of time travel and life in 1700s Scotland. Read all the good reviews. Writer uses the word 'sardonically' way way WAY too much. I'm sick of that word now. Writer tries to make the Scottish characters have a Scottish accent but only some of the time. My thought was to write all their words in the way they would be pronounced. Much like Samuel Clemens did. The arguments between two people drag on with sentences like "oh is that what you think?" Backand forth for a whole page or more. Even so, it's still a really great story designed for women to read.
