Amazing game, everyone here says its about survival of the fittest with no real end goal, but its definitely not that. Rust is a game with no end goal and no real reason, there's no rules, no definite way to play, and no single path of progression. You decide how you want to play and how you want to progress. That's the real beauty of Rust, complete freedom. A lot of the players for this game are toxic and that's undeniable, but that only makes it more satisfying to mess with them and in the end, their toxicity may even improve your experience by letting you get that feeling of revenge when you kill them. Cheaters and scripters are also very common in the game, they'll try to completely ruin the experience of you and other players, there isn't much you can do besides report to an admin or directly to the anti-cheat company (since they handle reports now) Facepunch has done excellent with constant updates and new content added to the game, they really don't get enough credit. Lastly I'd like to address the console version since that's coming out soon. I strongly disagree with this idea, not because of how it will slow updates, but because new players that start with the console version most likely won't get the actual Rust experience. Most people will probably agree that a lot of the fun from rust is in the player interaction, but on console most people stopped actually talking to each other after Black Ops 2 on Xbox 360, since then, you could play any game on console and no one would say a word. This would hurt Rust bad, the game uses voice chat better than any game I've ever played but I fear that consoles will cause a whole lot of the new console players to not put in the time or effort it takes to enjoy a lot of aspects to the game. Console games also aren't accustom to most of the key aspects of Rust's combat system, recoil like the AK's for example is way stronger than most weapons in most console games, this could also be a problem for new players. Console players on average are younger than most pc players and may be more likely to give up on practicing with the games weapons. Rust also couldn't have aim assist like most console games because of the game's difficult nature. Lastly I'm pretty sure that Facepunch wouldn't do this but I don't know, definitely don't have cross play between console and pc this could ruin the game for a lot of players.
