I rarely review anything but I felt many of the reviews for the game are unfair, a lot of people seem to take issue with the lack of control when characters perform certain actions but I think people are forgetting that this isn't an rpg or a game where you define your character this is a story driven game in which they player is more like a viewer, do I agree with the decisions Ellie and Joel make through the last of us games? Not always, but should I have a choice? The answer I'm afraid is no, just like I can't choose for Boromir to survive in fellowship of the ring just because I'd like to see it happen, anyway that being said I think the game does force players to do things they rather wouldn't but it serves as a way to force the player into feeling the characters guilt, anger, sadness, rarely joy, and sheer will to survive in this post apocalyptic nightmare. A world were people are neither entirely good or entirely evil, a world were acts of violence are as infectious as the virus itself, but also a world were acts of kindness can serve to cut through all that darkness and go someway to redeem the heinous acts committed by all sides. Its a dark and emotionally rough but it is an excellent and worthy successor to the first game.
