This is basically a full remake of topgun. From the young maverick (sorry, but that really is the best adjective available) with a troubled past to the aging instructor with a similarly troubled past. Both comegood through each others brilliance. Even down to the love connection with the local hottie and bar scenes. I wouldn't have been surprised if kitchen had busted out you've lost that loving feeling. Quite shameful in its similarities but to be fair I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed topgun.
