Nowhere near as good as the first game. The characters are much more shallow and uninteresting and the plot is contrived and overly padded with useless info while the genuinely interesting questions are left unanswered. I had some fun and actually tense moments with the gameplay but the issue that runs throughout the entire game is that you're killing loads of people through gameplay when the main point of the story is means to be "killing people in search of revenge is bad, don't do it". Ellie slaughters hundreds of people to get to one person. And revenge is what we're supposed to be avoiding...? I feel genuinely disappointed that this game didn't live up to the hype. I was skeptical, but rarely has a game managed to lower it's standards by this much.
