I haven’t finished watching yet, but I was loving this film...Marina is fascinating, Daniela Vega’s face showing resolve and yet, underneath, you can see and feel the pain she battles inside herself, even as she tries to show those others whom she knows think she’s dirt that they can’t hurt her.
And even though this is a Chilean film, I was interested to see that the United States is not the only country that uses supposedly “Good” things like children, family, etc, to deny rights to others who may not fit into the “socially acceptable” box. While I can understand the ex-wife not wanting her ex-husband’s lover at his funeral, the things she says to Marina are NOT ok. And if the children were really upset by her presence, it has to be because the ex-wife filled their heads with all kinds of ugliness and lies...
