You would see many Hollywood or British movies on WWII or WWI that have shaken countries and these movies portray humanity's darkest hours very well, while keeping the allies as the War Heroes. No doubt they were heroes in those battles and millions of brave lives lost in those fights. Rarely do you see the darker side of the same British, who while fighting the good fight against the Germans and Fascism, had oppressed many countries with their colonialism for centuries. Indian subcontinent being one. And the movie has done an astounding job at shedding some light on some of brightest and bravest heroes of India, specially Uddham Singh, who fought a good fight too... tears did roll down my eyes. Shoojit Sircar amazed us one more time with this beautiful piece of work, as did Vicky Kaushal. "After nearly 100 years, British Goverment is yet to apologise for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre."... let that sink in.
