Terrible movie, especially given the fact that the main character walked away freely after destroying the lives of many others. The portrayal was at least realistic in showing how privilege often shields people from accountability. As for the movie itself — poorly executed, but unfortunately spot-on in reflecting the dysfunction of American society. Side note: Vini 382, accountability matters. Instead of shifting blame onto public figures who aren’t even involved with Netflix (Reed Hastings is the co-founder, not the Obamas), maybe focus on the actual issue at hand. Obsessing over families who will never know you exist, or echoing divisive rhetoric, only proves the point that your community continuously dodge responsibility. By the way, I’m not Black, but I can clearly see the patterns of behavior at play, and it’s obvious the rest of the world is growing tired of this kind of nonsense as well.

Very difficult and uncomfortable to watch — had to stop. Saw too many things that screamed outdated and the series being fitting for an o l d Y T couple.

It's a no for me once that lawyer profiled that juror I did a quick exit. Listen, if people, directors, or whoever want to continue to propel racism I am not going to give them my view and I will certainly rate them poorly like they deserve. This ain't the olden days when the colonizers first landed in current day Americas, these are modern times. Get with the times, seriously.

What a terribly boring movie! Watched it till the end to see if it was worth the watch and was very disappointed. For starters the movie was extremely dark — dark as in hard to visually see. Additionally, I felt as if the people were whispering all throughout the movie, not to add it felt like they lacked personality. It was all gravely depressing, from the scenery (gloomy cold weather) to the characters and the pace of the show. I thought for a minute, no wonder there is so much hatred and ugliness in many Europe countries, particularly the North. Their weather is only bound to make it’s people miserable and they reflect their own misery, disappointments, and short-comings on to others. I also found myself distracted much too often and thinking about taking a nap due to the pacing of the plot and the monotone characters. I also find that most of these films, especially in Europe allow me to get an inside in all the issues they have: pedophilia (which tends to be a prominent one) in addition to racism, etc. It’s out of wack over there, due to their own people, and not others. When you sow hatred you can’t expect goodness. You reap what you sow.

Season 2 was terribly boring. Season 1 had a WAY better cast in all respects.

Pretty boring series to follow, in all honesty. I found it rather unrealistic — given the fact that they made the murder about a boy’s hatred for women/girls. I can see that being more or less realistic if it would have been a more developed male (given the fact that a lot of social issues aren’t fully understood at such a young age). Aa a WOC I didn’t understand how my race and gender played a pivotal role in the treatment I received until I started to experience more of life and get older. I find that actions in which children and teens display are learned — unfortunately through parents or peers. Once you’ve come into an age of “understanding” you make more informed decisions. Naturally, this series is trying to hone in on the detrimental effects of certain communities and individuals like Andrew Tate. But I find that many of the individuals that pander to such poor examples of humans, are more developed teens or disappointed in ones-self (males). It’s inner work that needs to be done. These are males that do not have positive examples of males in their lives. In many cases are raised in a broken homes. And this is not to excuse the behavior of the character — a obviously privileged male, but to get insight on the reality of a society that doesn’t emphasize healthy family relationships which is imperative to a child’s development. As someone in the education sector I find that despite the circumstances of poor role models in one’s life, there should be some classes implemented in the education sector that allow room for boys to be guided in a positive manner by positive male role models (some sort of male ethics class). Same for women, an environment that is led by women and provides guidance and support. Often times it’s broken people displaying behaviors and repeating behaviors, whether that is making poor selections in who they surround themselves with or in how they approach the world. And most importantly we must teach humans men and women alike that their worth is NOT contingent on finding or having women or men interested in you or having to find “the one.” Life is more than that.

Uzo Aduba was so entertaining to watch and listen to — a beautiful and talented actress (and must I add BRIGHT as-well). Still watching…. 😅

It was so bad, that it had me laughing. I guess that’s at least good!?!
