The aesthetic is beautiful but Halsey's acting is....not good. It felt like it just fell short of a good art house film. No real transition scenes to keep the story flowing. The story telling was a bit all over the place, but I can also see the underlying story of H's own history and growth which may be a bit too cryptic and go over many people's heads, but it's also a creative personal take on many cliches. Not really anything new offered as far as a film or as far as new music for Halsey, but there is something about the energy of this film I like. May have to give it another watch, but don't know if I will. There isn't that much to digest in this film. As you can see, my views on this film vary greatly. To me, it had potential, but fell incredibly short of the vivid, bold, artistic ride I was hoping for from H.
