Overall, it was enjoyable, although I had been craving a new Pokemon game, so that may have been a factor. While I did enjoy it, I felt that it made to many unnecessary compromises that dont warrant a $60 price tag. The complete and utter lack of exploration is a huge disappointment. The most interesting area is the wild area and, while it was great, you can get through most of it in an hour and a half. It has a couple of cool routes, but it also has some of the most uninspired routes available. The mushroom forest was quite pleasing visually, but the final snow route was a complete dud. Galar mine 1 and 2 were pathetic excuses for caves as well. Traditionally, caves are one of the best ways to add exploration to the game, but they had no personality, almost no extra areas to explore, and were overall very poor. I found the games had almost no replayability as there's nothing new to discover. Finally, I think that some of the new designs were cool, while quite a few others were poor and uninspired. The legendaries barely felt legendary, with one looking like a dog with a winter coat on and carrying a stick in its mouth. While still being enjoyable, I think that it's probably one of their worst main game titles, and I wouldn't recommend buying unless you're fine with paying more for, what is in my opinion, less. In fact, if they dont make considerable improvements or price mark downs, I likely wont buy the next game, because it didnt feel like it was worthy of being a $60 Switch game, when compared to BotW, Smash, and others.
