Liked SVU, 24, Bones or The Following? Even if you didn't, there is good reason to give The Mentalist a try. It holds it own and solid in every department (casting, acting performance, script, storylines, wardrobe, music, etc). Patrick Jane is one of the most interesting characters I've seen on TV. You'll quickly grow to love him and his antics, as well as feel the pain he feels whenever he smiles. This show will take you on a journey, during the ride you'll discover who Red John is and if Patrick Jane will stop reliving the past or not. You may discover that revenge can mean justice, but you definitely will be thinking about if revenge is right or wrong. It's a great show that hits your heart and head. The rights and wrongs. Revenge. Justice. Finding the truth. Finding yourself. For me, this is one of my favourite shows. For it's genre and diplomacy, I would give this show a high rating of 9/10. What this show did really well was using the 'everyday' killers as fuel for Patrick Jane. They would talk about their reasons and why they took their revenge. Usually Patrick Jane wouldn't say a word, just listen. But as an audience we knew exactly what he's thinking. As Jane would say: "I don't care about the law. I care about justice."
