The visuals and some of the characters were amazing. The opening was perfectly done. It feels like Mortal Kombat unlike the other movies. Although thats about all I can say is good. Most of the characters even Scorpion or Sub Zero were never given the story and interactions they deserve. There was no real tournament. Raiden and Shang Tsung both sucked and were somehow felt irrelevant. Cole Young was a bland character that ended up becoming a Gary Stew. The actor and character would be great for a different movie about mma but not Mortal Kombat. The entire 3rd act was rushed and they brought in characters like Reiko, Reptile, Kabal, and Mileena only to use them as cannon fodder. These characters should have been all given character and fleshed out because they are real and recognizable characters with their own story and intentions so to use them in that way is disrespectful and highlights a clear misunderstanding of Mortal Kombat. It has never been about one linear story and one character, its about a whole roster of characters and their interactions.
