Jake Malott

This movie is a sad attempt at a good monster mash. The creators copped out and went PG. There are so many opportunities to raise the stakes and time and time again they take easy street. This is supposed to be the most badass apex Predator alive and yet almost everyone escapes it, evades it, or outsmarts it. It’s pathetic, predictable, should have ended nine times over but drags on pointlessly... Second, it’s clear this was pandering to a Chinese audience (thanks to Chinese production and distribution contracts) who are accustomed to filtered, and censored “parental controls”. This movie had a concept which could have been legitimately scary and even shocking, but instead we end up with Jason Statham carrying a cast of cheap caricatures through a preteen wet dream. Hardly the real thing and and a poster child for global box office junk food. change my mind @jakeismalott
