This show is a mess! Just a flat out mess. Granted it gets better as the episodes progress but... My god! How hard is it for them to just make Godzilla... you know... Godzilla? This show tries so hard to be smart while also coming off as absolutely dumb and absurd. Whenever you're not seeing monsters, the characters are speaking absolute nonsense sci-fi mumbo jumbo as if all of it is common knowledge. I know it wasn't their intention, but it comes off as of the writers were "i know what im talking about. Im smart. If you aren't then too bad!" If you hated Godzilla (2014) for not showing enough Godzilla and focusing too much on the characters, you will hate this! Once again they try to change him up unnecessarily with the Shin Godzilla effect by making him have different forms and abilities. The pacing of the show is awful and just when things are getting good they will cut away to show characters you don't care about spewing up more exposition or the episode will just abruptly end. It's agonizing at times. The only thing awesome about this show (other than that catchy into music) is Jet Jaguar, who we haven't seen in decades! He is the star of the show. All in all, the show isn't nearly as bad as the Polygon Trilogy a couple years back, but my god is it still pretty damn bad. Can't believe we live in a world where American studios care more about Godzilla's legacy more than the original creators. I'll take Godzilla vs Kong any day over this!
