The series ending never addresses the prior season ending. There is no recognition and praise for Morse standing up, alone at one time with Thursday because Strange was connected early on to the Masons and his character couldn't find his way out of a paper bag, it's Morse who figures out and puts it all together. Morse saved Joan's life in the bank robbery, he helped her when she lost her baby, and Morse saved Thursday's life more than once, even the Superintendent but never do any of the other characters say, Thank You or does the character get recognition for saving the day. Even with Strange taking Joan to a dance it's like Joan is settling for what she figures is best - not love, there is no chemistry there. And Season 9 will probably end up with Morse finding Sam - not Strange, and one can only hope the character Joan dies so she doesn't end up settling. It's sad to see Morse be villainized in the ending of Season 8 when he's been through so much. Stupid writing to never recognize Morse in each ending and opening of new season.

Great show hated to see it end. I thought Professor T would go back not just to teaching and and but back to the prison to help inmates grow as he had so many other story lines to be had - love this how! The BBC has tried to remake it with actor Ben Miller and it's a sad recap of the same Belgin Professor T stories - and my opinion he's not up to it, he will always be to me the sad little DCI on death in Paradise. Please bring it back!! So much of the story is left untold - Professor T actor is wonderful, and the cast is too. I love the show!!

Gillian, an American actress, failed in trying to sound like she was English from the UK, her character in this series that went on and on and on she became a cougar where any person was game to have sex with, no emotion just use the person and move on - her sexual appetite was obscene and took away from the series that could have been wrapped up faster than the story line where the detective work was shabby and non-realistic - we stopped watching as it was just bad writing, bad acting by the X-files American Actress who did not get better with age -- maybe she could consider adult films

It began great but then is becoming a soap opera, Sommerdahl's wife is suffering from menopause, feels unattractive, and aside from having a faithful and hard working husband who has been at her side for 25 years, she becomes a horn dog and screws their best friend. It's almost predictable that Sommerdahl will at the end of series 3 - sail off on his own while his wife continues her relationship with their best friend who has become a parasite in wanting his best friends wife, screwing her, and obtaining all that the couple built on by just waiting on the side until she was ripe, confused, and too stupid to get mental health as she is going through menopause for herself not just screw and destroy years of friendship the three had. When and if the series 3 comes out will go straight to the final episode to see Sommerdahl sail off and find his happiness.

It began great but can't tell if Angel is an only child and her continued pursuit in pleasing her Mother, gifting them a home, the father...aside from babysitting what do the parents do to earn their keep? Or is there such guilt Angel is suffering from she has to continue to please them. After building a custom kitchen, etc. who paid for all the appliances, etc. Wouldn't it be better served to have any one or two people who actually help from cleaning, prep work, etc. to live on the premises that contribute. But the free ride old people is getting old as you don't even seem work on any project...the show passes the time but it's getting old in a time in the USA where unemployment is high, food lines, unable to pay rent and to see....well it's out of tune and what people should watch is regular people, regular homes, how to's, very basic from planting a garden not having to go out and buy a tractor. The noise keeps from the show is something and many times I just shut off.

Today, 4/30, the morning news discussed a facility for the COVID-19 where marijuana, beer and cigarettes is provided and the news reader stated the items were not purchased by tax dollars but through a non-profit organization.....IT IS TAX DOLLARS, your news reader is uninformed or doesn't investigate but from rent dollars assistance to food vouchers all come from TAX DOLLARS - it's against the law for any governing body to gift tax dollars so in order to go around the law they give the money to a non-profit whereby the tax dollars can be laundered through them and not seen as using tax dollars because the non-profit is already listed by the governing body to receive money. So they (the governing agency, whether it's Seattle City Council or any other body) are gifting TAX DOLLARS through a well know funnel - please report correctly.

There are many times through the series where the wife character named Jill that I wanted to slap. The writing of her demanding in one episode while she has the flu for her husband to massage her back and wait on her hand and foot - in what real world is this happening? Or the time she underwent the change and after coming one day all of a sudden she changed to Godzilla - in what real world do the hormones change overnight and cause her hysteria? Or the fact she had the luxury of having living in a beautiful home, not having to work in the beginning, and all she did was complain - really how many of us either gender would have loved the opportunity to live like that - I never saw much when the show was new and even more I don't watch now it's on re-runs. Jill, the character, I had hoped would die when she had her ovaries removed to stop the character's constant complaining.

The story line regarding the departure of Chambers didn't make sense, the love of his life throughout the series has been Amanda and when we heard the audience would like the way the writers wrote Chamber's departure - disappointed and if you had sent Chambers being airlifted by aliens that would have been better but for him to have sex one time, within one day of meeting her, falling in love one day and moving to the US to work for civil rights.....STUPID! If Chambers had changed vocation to become a counselor, run after the love of his life, the little daughter he helped raise as if his own that would have put love first but an overnight conversion and even with that quick turn around there was no send off, no goodbye's just poorly contrived. The whole series was about a love story and I wanted a happy ending so their love story could be wrapped up as they move away all together.

It's weird on how her parents in the show are always in heat, and as old as she is lives at home, confidential information is always leaked by her gossipy Mother and how she investigates like a detective and she's only the corner - we keep hoping her character grows a backbone, moves out as an adult, learns to keep confidential information confidential.
