It may not be breaking art film hearts, or making anyone rethink their world politics, but it is a great Star Wars film. Is it fan service? Yes, perhaps. Shouldn't it be at this point? For many of us 40 and 50 somethings that have been warning theater seats since the late 70's we needed a reminder of all the things we once found awe inspiring and new. After a couple of more adventurous attempts, this movie hit home and gave many of us the feelings we had as kids seeing a New Hope for the first time. Much like politics Star Wars fans have a tendency to be divisive and beyond sensitive, hopefully this closes one door and opens many, many more that can please new and old fans alike.
