A beautiful movie, encompassing a multitude of elements, with a brilliant portrayal of the lives of both Dolly and Kitty and their personalities. Nice cast, the performances of each and every artist involved stands out, especially that of Konkona Sen Sharma. The two female actors are an absolute delight on screen. And kudos to the skillful direction by Alankrita Shrivastava. A genius representation of the reality, which is often concealed and disregarded by the society that we live in- accepting our sexuality, accepting someone else's sexuality, sexual life of women... It is a wonderful blend of all these ingredients, with none overriding the others' importance. It takes a stand against the discrimination ingrained in the society due to the patriarchal and anti-LGBTQ structuring of the system. In general, people tend to shy away from discussing such topics because it goes against what they've been taught for so long. The concept of binary in sexuality and the role of women being just to appease their partners. This movie, is a much needed addition to the niche of progressive art that has been recently created in Bollywood,
Slightly slow paced at times, and the ending was a bit rushed. But that does not dilute the prowess and excellence of the storyline even a little bit. A must watch indeed. Would love to see many more such gems from Bollywood.
