Honestly I saw the title to this film and thought that it would be a comedy that lampooned of all of those ominous book titles, most notably, Woman in the Window, but what I got was a sorta not-quite-funny parody? Was it even a parody? I dont know they were trying to do by giving it that comedic title because this show is a lot of things - funny isn't one of them.
This show, however, was an unoriginal, predictable, plot contrived mess.
Since it wasn't funny, if I was to judge it strictly as the mystery thriller in which a gaslit woman tries to prove something to everyone I wish I could give it a 0/5. If they went the comedy route they could have been on to something. Saying a joke the times in a row on the hospital bed at the end is NOT funny b/c FYI no matter how many times you say it it isnt funny.
This show - that should have been a movie- had a laughably ridiculous ending. I don't know if I was supposed to turn off my brain to it or not. Because this show dosent know what it wants!
So the basic plot: Some woman witnesses murder, goes crazy, calls the cops , everyone thinks shes crazy, she investigates, shes given several false leads, and eventually she finds the unlikely suspect and everyone that gaslit he finds out she telling the truth.
It's a simple structure. I have no problem with writers using this basic plot scheme but what I HATE is when they take too much from that plot of another source and pretty much dish you out a shell of what this particular genre is without having any real direction on what your are trying to achieve.
I wish this was The Show That Went Across the Room and into the Garbage in the writing room
