Started off well, had the potential for some occult mystery. Dragged out in middle episodes, ending was an absolute fizzer.

I really wanted to give this show a good go, after all it's about Wednesday Addams and Tim Burton is directing. So surely it's going to be dark right.. well actually it really isn't. Actually every incarnation of the Addams family prior to this series is darker. Wednesday Addams, smart, confident and full of conviction, right... well not in this series, misstep after misstep sees Wednesday make a bigger fool out of herself, as she pretty well acuses the entire cast of murder until some divine influence eventually provides her with the correct answer. I'm no genius but the murderer and accomplises were apparent by the second episode, maybe I've been around the sun too many times and this type of formula is now too apparent for me. In summary I feel this show is probably directed to 14 year old girls, tinkerbell meets Harry potter setting, love triangles, and a weak plot line to the uninitiated.

Great show would have been given 5 stars if not for the first series. First series focuses waaaay too much on Lesley Knope and it becomes overbearingly annoying. Some television genius must have realised this and they reduce Lesley's screen time in season 2 onwards and she actually becomes a character you can warm to. Stick with this show it is excellent. Ron Swanson is one of the best characters ever created

There are some great parts of this sitcom (e g the Dean, Abed and Troy) but it's hardly a great sitcom. I persevered with it hoping it would get better and besides the 3 characters already mentioned, it really didn't. Think Jeff Winger is an urelateable pretentious knob, well he stays like that the whole series. No improvement on the character. Think Chevy Chase is an arrogant humorless prick, guess what, he stays like it. Find Shirley grating and annoying, she stays like it. Do yourself a favour watch the second series (onwards) of Parks and Recreation instead it will be a much more valuable use of your life.
