The beginning of the movie, left you curious, wanting to know what happened, and why did it happen. That was a great way to start it. When it was taken further, it seemed to be absolutely gripping! From secret passages, to notions about betrayal, my eyes were glued to the screen. I liked the way they introduced Khalid (Tiger Shroff), with a big fight scene (which made me drop all my popcorn, by the way🙁), followed by him reminiscing about how he met Kabir (Hrithik Roshan), for the first time. The way they shared glances, to Hrithik’s flirty dialogues and Tiger’s failed attempts at impressing him, I started to think there was a gay love story ahead of me (which wouldn’t have been a bad addition to the movie, in my opinion😉).
The fight scenes and chasing sequences were remarkable, and made sure to fill me with adrenaline. Though every one of the fight scenes, especially the last one, were stretched a little too far. If these scenes had been shorter, the film wouldn’t have been so long either, which would’ve been great.
The styling in this movie was top notch! Hrithik Roshan’s outfits were the best, according to me. Although, Roshan’s make up, appeared to be exaggerated, and caused almost every other character in the film to look flat and dull.
I was incredibly annoyed with the fact that Hrithik Roshan was in almost every frame! Every time something heroic or surprising took place, he made sure to make a grand entrance. It looked like a lot of Tiger Shroff’s scenes were cut, which was disappointing.
There were multiple errors in the film as well, such as where Kabir and Khalid are driving speedily across the Arctic Circle, and, within a minute, they land up in a forest.
Nothing could keep me from bobbing my head constantly during War. The music added a great vibe to the movie and even managed to make it more interesting! Though the sound effects were not done well at all! Every time somebody would salute, it sounded like a watermelon being hit with a baseball bat. Even when somebody was being attacked, or beaten up, their sounds of despair were slightly overwhelming, and should have been softer.
Vaani Kapoor, playing Naina in the film looked stunning. Her role was short, yet impactful. The chemistry shared between her and Kabir was exceptional!
I liked the twists in the movie, although the plot wasn’t so convincing, and it didn’t excite me so much.
Overall War was not a bad movie, but it wasn’t so great either. If there could have been a few more modifications, and if it wasn’t as long, it would have been much better..
