Wow... so I just finished watching this, and I gotta say, I loved it! The music was lovely, the storyline was pretty good, and the characters were quite likeable and also relatable. I love how the whole theme of the movie revolves around expressing your feelings and how words can affect people. Although tbh that's just my personal take on it as I personally love emotional and deep and meaningful anime
As I mentioned about the characters, I love how relatable they are, especially since they're very realistic. For example, the main girl in this, Jun. She feels the need to shut herself away from people and hide her voice because she's scared she might hurt people with her words, and that's because of a personal family incident that happened when she was younger. Without properly knowing, she caught her father cheating on her mom with another woman, and Jun went and told her mom, unaware of thr consequences of what would happen. And because the 'egg' appeared to her and tricked her into thinking she hurts people with her words, since that day she's been scared to say anything in case something bad will come of it. It's realistic and relatable because 1, incidents like that happen in real life, and 2, there are people in real life who feel that way, who shut themselves off from people. So I can imagine anyone who's been through a similar situation and watched this movie would agree when I say it's relatable, and that's one thing that makes this a good movie
Oh, and another thing. I read some reviews about this movie before watching it and a lot of people were saying how bad the ending was and how dissapointed people were by it, but... I don't see the problem...? Maybe that's just me, idk, but tbh I'm just glad that Jun finally found her voice and said the things she wanted to say. For me personally it just shows good character development. And ok, so none of the characters actually ended up in relationships but so what? Tbh I admire Jun for confronting her feelings for Takumi, even if he didn't like her back. And as for the baseball guy, at least he confronted his feelings for Jun. I suppose we'll never know what happened between them as nothing was made clear, but one can imagine...
Anyway I know this was a long winded review, sorry for rambing on xD but if you did read this far then thank you :). I definately recommend this anime movie, it's a must watch, especially if like me, you love relatable, deep and meaningul emotional anime. Also just a quick suggestion, if by any chance the director/production company (or anyone who worked on this movie) happens to come across this review, could you consider maybe producing an English dub for this? That would honestly be great if you could
Thank you :)
