All of the people saying this is a BAD movie are either young or not true matrix fans. If you were in your late 20s like I was when the original matrix came out, and seen first hand how technology was changing social norms after growing up with no computer cell phone social media networking. Where you actually had to have real skills in real life to be noticed and have a real social circle. Then you would truly love the matrix for its deep thought provoking plot and brilliant references to technology and society.
So someone like myself that loved the original matrix for the story not just for special effects even though bullet time was ground breaking.
I totally understand where how and why they did this movie this way.
I thought it was a brilliant plot and timeline wrap up to many things left unanswered in the third movie. The absolute only thing that I know this movie is getting so so reviews over is this could of easily been a 4 hour movie it did feel rushed and there was a lot left to see that was left out I would of liked to see more of the back story on the machines fighting machines how some machines partnered with humans but the story was wonderful how the architect made a lockdown matrix and the humans and machines went in unexpected directions
