wow! seriously a roller coaster ride! extremely well written, interesting and engaging throughout, and the characters are well developed! the way that schusterman builds anticipation is spectacular- I had chills while reading!! I could not recommend more- and I would argue that the last 100-or-so pages of this book might be the most stimulating, page-turning (nay, page-flying) reading experience that I’ve ever had. I was not expecting to love this series as much as I did, considering I’m not a fan of death as a central theme, but the scythe series was so so much more than that. There are many things happening at once, and the way the characters’ perspectives switch between chapters always leaves you wanting to know what happened next in the previous situation, and once everything begins to point in the same direction, it’s feels like seeing someone you love after a long separation- heart-pumping happiness and satisfaction. I was honestly floored. This book is truly the dessert of the series- because you save the best for last! I would give this book, and the series overall, a 10-star rating, if it were possible. Please read!!! (Also I apologize if I wasn’t very coherent, but this is my first book review and I’m still in awe after finishing this book 15 minutes ago).
