Finally a historical drama closer to historical events Bollywood on spree of earning money on the current political climate in India, finally this TV series comes as a change in monotonous jingoism with, or barbaric rulers from Indian subcontinent demonstrated as heroes saving religion from external invaders - dog whistles to blood thirsty radical Indian population which feeds on hate for other countries and religions. Cross checking with history books, writer and director have taken some artistic liberty, but not to depict Moghuls as all powerful, but being normal human beings who are capable to loose and be wrong. Reviews on this site are filled with people having imagination about a fairy tale Indian Empire invaded by external forces, which was never true. It's unfortunate that I couldn't find a single useful review.
