Basically a remake of the 1982 version, as kind of a tribute to it. Main thing different is that it takes place in the Norweigian outpost. You see a few things in this prequel that explains or coincides with the 1982 movie. But I have to say that the handmade special effects and Kurt Russell's role as 'person in charge' are far superior.
