The only way to dislike this movie as seen in some of these reviews is to totally disregard the allegory involved and to take it at face value as "a superhero movie" or "an action film". Charlize Theron, as usual, inhabits her character totally and the ensemble does the same.
All of the characters are fully fleshed out and three-dimensional with their own sufferings, triumphs, strengths and weaknesses. The movie begins with a passionate warrior for justice giving into despair and nihilism (under normal circumstances, a person with her experiences would have arrived here long ago).
Then we see how genuine integrity, and seeing something through is where the truest breakthroughs and victories are found. We see a hopeful image of a world where our good deeds don't go unnoticed, because there are Copley's in the world. Even this supporting role had an absolutely key position in the plot. It betrays an underlying truth. If we all do our part, the rewards reaped by all will be unimaginable.
A few good people per generation doesn't cut it. That is the message, make the most of your time, bring balance to the world by doing the most good you can. Thanks for reading my first ever film review!
