I went to these movies because of the star Mr. Reeves, but I am not going to sugarcoat my reaction to this particular film. Sorry to put a damper here, but I was disappointed in the insult to my intelligence, by using extreme overkill in the many violent scenes. When you shoot a man four times in center body mass, then go over and shoot him three more times in the face, is that not a perfect example of not only overkill, but in insulting my intelligence? That I, as a reasonable human being, would think it would take seven shots to kill an enemy, at CLOSE range? Yes, close range tells me you think I’m a moron. And this happens repeatedly, to many other “bad guys”. The “over” killing distracted from the choreography of the scene. There is a glass room, per se, and John gets thrown into several giant glass columns and they come crashing down on him. He has only a few small cuts on his face; a couple of which were already on his face before he went into this room and started shattering glass!!??? Insult my intelligence some more why don’t you? I understand they don’t want to cut up the stars face that much but really? Again the choreography of the scene, (which this particular room was absolutely amazing), was great, but the overkilling was just for the sake of gore, and violence. Pure and simple. One of the most bloody, gory, and violent movies I’ve seen to date. I go to the movies weekly, and watch horror, drama, comedy and violent films (I’m not into the romances) and am not a wuss when it comes to violent and or bloody films but I have to say, I was disappointed. 😔
