Although the overall plot and premise is interesting, the whole series is brought down by the details and the cast of characters (for example, no child is ever allowed inside a quarantined research area for a UFO spaceship, even if the child is the daughter of the lead scientist). As for the astronauts, besides convincing performances by the captain and the AI, the rest of the crew are a bunch of careless, half-witted immature young misfits who have no business being on such a spaceship performing such a mission critical to humanity. And we are all for diversity and inclusion, but it seems Netflix' mission in most of its series these days is to portray every imaginable sexual relationship possible between human beings instead of focusing on and paying more attention to the details of the story itself.
