She was doomed if she did, doomed if she didn't after her book. You have to admire her for standing up to all the people who scream white privilege doesn't exist (aka half the comments on here). I think the real point of this wasn't necessarily for her to speak for the African American community, it was to display growth. That is the point some people are missing. She isn't trying to speak for anyone and take power from anyone's stories. I think it was a way to some of these people who used to think like her, that if someone like her can grow, so can they. So while I agree she didn't dive deep enough and it didn't teach any "woke" person anything, her audience was more for those moderate people who are on the fence about the topic or just doesn't have experience in it.
