The more I watch this show the more I like it. It's "real world." If one is afraid of the realities of life, may not be the show for you. There are all types of characters. You have the criminal element, haters, predators, abusers... back story of a middle class family using the church as their beard... disconsolate person possibly having aids managing the complex, recovering drug addict, a protecting transvestite, a soul from the past, kids and their relationships along with trying to "pass tests" of the hood complex, and those working to understand David. So much going on I'm sure I've missed something. There is an obvious contrast of where David is trying to direct his future versus his current circumstances that keep pulling him back. It's a great show with lots of life lessons that are thought provoking.
