This movie is something new. Not overly violent, as a Tarentino or Rambo movie. I think this movie earned its R rating through its ominous score and real-life psychoanalytic downward spiral. Phoenix is brilliant. He seems so comfortable making you feel uncomfortable. After you press play it’s a 2 hour drop to rock bottom. Imagine a tea pot on the stove....slowly simmering and building up steam, by the time it boils over you try to take it off the flame, buts it’s too late and you get scalded. Joker is born.
