I get you don't think it is a good book, but your reasons for saying that are not correct. You obviously don't get the point of the story and the message that the book is trying to pass.
And the main character can't get over what happened to her years ago, which leads to her disease, which is why something bad happens often. Please do consider reading the book again and researching on Munchausen by proxy.
