I loved the show and the back stories which demonstrated the times of 1897 France. However, it proved that the more things change, the more they stay the same. The cowardice and corruption of the so-called aristocrat men at anyone's expense is so comparable to the cowardice and corruption of the so-called elite politicians of today, willing to do anything to cover their crimes, eliminate their opponents and get re-elected.. Gilberto Melky was perfectly cast to represent evil and all of the acting was superb. Highly recommend.
