I cannot stay away from Prisoners. This film grabs your attention in the first 10 minutes. There are scenes in this movie that will make you want to give up hope. There are scenes in this movie that will make you double check your locks at night. This movie perfectly illustrates the variety of reactions people have in desperate situations. Some lose hope and break down, some turn to substance abuse, while others become infatuated with the idea of vindication. Please give this movie a watch. I have never watched a movie that so well breaks the viewer and provides them with hope, just to pull out the rug from them time and time again.

A decent slow burn, that unfortunately drags on and on. It is hard to describe how disappointing the conclusion ended up being. The film trails off and eventually trades all of buildup of the slow burn, and terrifying lead up, for an anticlimactic, underwhelming finish. If you do enjoy a good slow burn, this may scratch an itch for you, but it does disappoint as it draws to a close.

An interesting movie, that when watched independently of any expectations regarding the previous film, is quite entertaining. Watching Nicholas Cage unravel a very dark mystery on an island that slowly consumes him. This film is an ominous, suspenseful tale that slowly gets darker as it progresses.
