Although I recognise the skill of the acting and the cinematography, this film left me cold. It was, in my opinion, pretentiously drawn out and ultimately lacking in any warm engagement with the characters. Why do the ‘critics’ admire it ? The animal cruelty is intolerable and the subtext laboured and so ‘woke’ it’s embarrassing.
